CF Extrusion Technologies has announced that Chance Hendershot and Madison Hendershot-Dubay have joined the company. With an eye to future growth and succession, Terrance Hendershot, president and owner, said he is pleased that his son and daughter have joined him in the business.
Prior to joining CF Extrusion Technologies, Chance spent seven years working in equipment and consumable sales for WSM Technologies. Terry said, “It was important for Chance to get experience in the field, learning from and working for others before coming to work with me.” At CF Extrusion, Chance will eventually be selling machinery, and he is starting from scratch to learn every aspect of the business. Terry said, “I’m a big believer in taking a hands-on approach to training in sales.” Chance has been formally trained on the Mitsubishi EDM, and he now has over a year of experience. He has also been gaining a thorough knowledge of the extruders by tearing down and assembling the machines. This year Chance will start going on sales calls and will be gradually introduced to current customers.
Madison worked for seven years in the institutional foodservice industry before jointing CF Extrusion Technologies. Maddie travels with Terry and Shannon, going with them on visits to customer plants. She is learning purchasing and accounting, which requires a solid understanding of the equipment and the customer’s production needs. Shannon Davidson, vice president of sales and marketing, said, “In purchasing, you need to know how to review engineering specs so that you know what needs to get done. To do that you need to learn how the equipment is made and for whom. You have to be able to see assemblies in your head.”
Maddie and Chance have been sent to customer locations to assemble lab extruders, working together as apprentices for Terry. He shows them how he likes the process completed, and they assemble and test the equipment under his direct supervision. Chance also has experience assembling larger machines; in fact, the last machine he helped assemble was also the largest of Terry’s career.
Both Chance and Maddie love the outdoors. Chance is a hunter, and both Maddie and Chance are avid golfers and hikers.
Chance is married and has three children: Annabell, eight; Greyson, five; and Emilyn, 4. He lives with his family in Peninsula, Ohio. Maddie was recently married and lives with her husband in Cuyahoga Falls. They are the proud parents of two dogs: A Pointer and an Australian Shepherd
